D\u2019Amato Chair in Italian and Italian American Studies in the Department of Languages and Cultural Studies, Stony Brook University (US), and Honorary Professor of Translation Studies in the School of Modern Languages, Cardiff University (UK).\u00a0\u00a0She previously held positions at the University of Cardiff and the University of Warwick.\u00a0She is a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales (2017-) and\u00a0a previous president of the International Association for Translation and Intercultural Studies (2017-21). Her research interests combine translation and transnational Italian studies. She has written on travel writing, colonial and postcolonial literature, multilingualism and migration. Her current work focuses on memory, mobility and translation in transatlantic Italian cultures.Her recent publications include (also as co-editor) the special issue of\u00a0<i>Forum Italicum<\/i>\u00a0\u2018Critical Issues in Transnational Italian Studies\u2019 (57:2, 2023) the\u00a0<i>Routledge Handbook of Translation and Migration<\/i>\u00a0(2024) and the volumes\u00a0<i>Creativit\u00e0 Diasporiche.
